Special pillar elements

The Trento Mur® pillar with its measures of 37.5 cm x 37.5 cm ideally integrates with the appearance of the wall. The pillar with its reinforceable concrete core and bonding notches is especially suited for being integrated with constructions featuring wooden fences and garden doors. The pillar is formed out of short end blocks. The blocks’ reverse sides are placed next to one another in such a way that a cavity to take up concrete (B25) is created in centre. Via the filled bonding notches of the end blocks, the force-fitted bond is created. It is advisable to additionally armore the concrete core with at least one (better with four) steel bars (ø 10 mm) reaching down into the foundation. The concrete core needs to set for at least 7 days before the pillar can be worked on again.

detail-image The back-filled Trento Mur® The back-filled Trento Mur® wall can be built in the same way as the freestanding one. To protect the wall from penetration by moisture, it is advisable to install a “rough” protection mat for buildings over the entire wall on the soil side (e.g. sanded roofing felt or a course insulating panel). The Trento Mur® wall is back-filled with frost-resistant, stable material, such as gravel or crushed stone. In order to ensure a properly working drainage, a drainage pipe must be provided for at the lower edge of the cemented foundation.Since back-filled walls have only one face, the construction of a back-filled Trento Mur® wall can also be considerably cheaper when backing blocks are used. Backing blocks may exhibit extreme differences in color. image image
